This solidly built, classic-looking 1-4/5-quart teakettle says you're serious about your tea. TO REMOVE EXISTING ASSEMBLY
1. Turn the assembly with your hand, like a doorknob. It may twist off easily.
2. If not, the assembly needs to be pushed off. Turn kettle with spout pointing away. Using a wooden kitchen spoon, press against the rolled edge of stainless assembly, working it around top to bottom, side to side. The assembly should pop off.
TO REPLACE WHISTLE ASSEMBLY:
1. Check inside of assembly spout collar for small black o-ring (E). 2. Place new whistle assembly on spout. Aligning spout indentations with indentations on the assembly spout collar push into place.
3. To secure assembly properly on spout, turn the kettle upside down placing spout opening on the edge of kitchen counter with the flipper hanging over the edge. Using body weight to push down on the kettle, you should feel assembly snap into place. There should not be a gap between the spout of the kettle and the assembly.
Kettle does not whistle:
Before water starts to boil, open and close flipper on spout 2 or 3 times to clarify tuning plate is in place.
